We are delighted to present the first in our new series, ‘In Conversation with...’.
Throughout the series, we will interview interesting professionals from a range of different backgrounds across the animal industry. Each has a fascinating story to tell and our series will tell you a bit more about what they do and how they got to where they are today.
First up, our South ranger Chris Knowles sits down with Grace Dickinson, an animal presenter, educator and trainer. Grace began working professionally in zoos and as a film industry wrangler/trainer in 2002 - you may even recognise some of her animal stars from your favourite TV shows and movies! Grace has an amazing passion for animals which comes across in everything she does. It’s amazing to learn about the level of patience, trust and skills involved in her line of work.
Next month, Chris sits down with Lynne MacTavish from Mankwe Wildlife Reserve in South Africa to discuss the incredible conservation work undertaken on the reserve, and the serious threats posed by rhino poachers especially through the COVID-19 pandemic.
